Apple's draconian password criteria are guaranteed to produce two results: 1) Lots of people forgetting their password, and 2) Lots of people writing their password down.
No. I'm with you. The most bizarre one is "Not be a common password." How would you know it's a common one or not? Obviously, they don't mean dictionary-based passwords when they say common. Because the criteria ensures that the passwords fall outside of a dictionary.
Interestingly, if you had followed the rest of the criteria and your password is rejected, you'd know that that password has been used before by other users. A potential flaw in their password approval system that could derive common passwords.
