XNA Tutorials

My game programming class has developed a set of XNA tutorials for beginners. The tutorials build off of Microsoft's Your First Game: Microsoft XNA Game Studio in 2D tutorial which shows how to animate a bouncing sprite. Our tutorials show how to:

  • Add mouse input
  • Add a sound effect
  • Add keyboard input
  • Add a rotating background image
  • Make the sprite rotate
  • Add gravity
  • Make the sprite fade into different images
  • Show the number of elapsed seconds
    • Display text
    • Spritefonts
    • Random Numbers
  • Add a second sprite and collision detection
